Masterpiece by Chakrabhand Posayakrit Sets New Auction Record at 16.8 Million Baht

Bangkok Art Auction successfully concluded its exclusive art auction event, Golden Horizons – The Extraordinaire 2025, which captivated art lovers across generations. The highlight of the show was a masterwork by Professor Chakrabhand Posayakrit from the “Rojana Siang Puang Malai” series, which achieved a record-breaking hammer price of 16.8 million baht, reaffirming the enduring appeal and value of Thai modern art by master artists.

Mr. Sermkhun Kunawong, Chairman of Bangkok Art Auction, stated that the auction featured over 100 curated masterpieces from both renowned Thai and international artists, alongside promising emerging talents. The event drew an enthusiastic turnout of collectors, underscoring the growing interest in fine art across all generations.

The sale included iconic works by legendary masters such as Chakrabhand Posayakrit, Thawan Duchanee, Andy Warhol, Yves Klein, Pratuang Emjaroen, and Sawasdi Tantisuk, spanning genres from modern to contemporary art. The top lot, “Rojana Siang Puang Malai” by Chakrabhand Posayakrit, set a new personal auction record at 16.8 million baht, the highest ever for the artist.

Other remarkable highlights include:

• DIDEDODIN by KARMS at 1,160,500 baht

• Rusty Mario by Cheese Anon at 324,940 baht

• Untitled 1997 by Chuang Moolpinit at 301,730 baht despite measuring only 74 cm, reflecting its exceptional appeal
   

The Chairman added that the strong turnout—featuring many first-time bidders and younger collectors—signals a vibrant and expanding art market. Many attendees sought timeless pieces to enrich their living spaces, confident in the fair valuations and quality assured by Bangkok Art Auction.
